Reflection on what he learned from service.

It is impossible to predict what the future of work, education, and even leisure looks like in the age of AI. But one thing is certain: community service will always be a core value and cornerstone of my life.

Project Downtown (food distribution logistics)

 Zayyan has participated in community service ever since the sixth grade. He has participated in organizations such as Project Downtown, Feeding South Florida, and Love is On The Streets. He has introduced and promoted these organizations to his MSA. He has coordinated and participated in various food drives, gift drives, and religious events.

Muslim Student Association

Active member for over three years. Coordinated and planned events such as food drives, gift drives, and religious events. Collaborated with organizations such as Project Downtown, Feeding South Florida, Love is On The Streets, and MWO. The organization was successful in providing over 500 people food and over 400 kids with new toys.

MWO Toy-Wrapping Drives

Participated in Ramadan toy drives during freshman, sophomore, and junior year. Coordinated and organized toys based on age, gender, and type of toy. Wrapped hundreds of gifts for underprivileged kids and kids with cancer.

 

Reading Buddies (literacy support)

Zayyan attended a pre-k classroom and met with a dozen pre-k students. He read books to these students along with a dozen other students. Received positive feedback from teachers, who felt that his reading style was easy to understand from the young students
