Zayyan’s introduction into the inner workings of business started his freshman year with the American Heritage Business Track. This four-year program consists of rigorous, college-level courses aimed at enhancing student expertise of all aspects of business.
Pre-Business Society & Young Investors Society
Zayyan has been a member of two prominent pre-professional programs since sophomore year. Beyond attending meetings and being a valuable contributor to group discussions, he has also hosted meetings on behalf of each organization, and has hosted multiple guest speakers such as Kamal Ahmed (Global Head of Tech & Semiconductors, Barclays), Zia Bhutta (CEO, ANAI Capital Management), Amir Khan (CEO, Alkira), and Yusuf Mallick (associate, Trivest Partners).
Becoming an Entrepreneur: An Inside Look at Innovation, Georgetown, Summer 2022
Inspired by his volunteer work through Feeding South Florida, Zayyan wanted to learn more about the creative process in business and get feedback directly from Georgetown professors on his ideas for social entrepreneurship. For his final project, he designed a nonprofit that works with local sporting goods stores to generate revenue through limited releases of sports goods sponsored by professional athletes.
Intro to Micro and Macro Economics, Northwestern, Summer 2023
Eager for an immersive, residential experience in one of the nation’s finance capitals, Zayyan successfully applied to this highly-selective summer program. He distinguished himself through an in-depth analysis of the 2008 recession, and through small-group chapter discussions on bail-outs, mortgage lending, and game theory.
Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, UPenn, Summer 2024
Under the mentorship of Professor Raj Patel, Zayyan analyzed AI relative to human work. Here, he truly developed critical thinking skills, and displayed a willingness not only to examine opposing arguments, but to change his mind as new information became available. His first instinct was that AI cannot replace human work, but statistics showed that AI outperformed humans at certain tasks. Studying collective action also changed the way he viewed AI. This concept became a core part of his passion project, leading to the creation of the Tech Conference, a panel involving the connection between AI and finance.
Elements of Human Capital Theory, UChicago, Summer 2025
Eager to learn about the value of an individual’s personal skill to society, Zayyan applied to this program under the guidance of Pablo A. Peña. He contributed to class discussions by applying real-world examples of athletes, entrepreneurs, and successful leaders of high human capital. He utilized daily assignment to provide philosophical analysis of human capital using research from both the assigned texts and outside sources. Zayyan successfully transferred this learning to his Tech Conference.
